Welcome back to Inagiffy!
22nd August 2025
hey folks, arnav here
this week has been.. FUN
gstr3
moa rectification
negotiation and confirmation of 2 new clients (contract wip)
stamp paper contract of an enterprise deal
upsell (60% increase in contract) negotiation (sample wip)
some v intense convos (reveal soon)
and product team building like it’s a hackathon
a lot of the above wont make sense. i get it
and we’ll explain each of these as developments become concrete
but till then, let’s talk about second chances.
most times, at least in work, when you mess up you tend to break trust
even if it’s not intentional
this happened a few years back with our first ever client
for context: it was me. a junior
we weren’t taking salaries
we had a content intern
and we were working with an organization doing over 100 crores a year
breakthrough client to work with. but def way above than what we could punch
a few months in: mess ups in content. they thought it was too basic. churned
ive always hated having grudges personally
i hate ending things on a bad note
it always irks me, how do i fix it
we yet did stuff in kind to try and rekindle the relationship. gave leads
sent diwali hampers
went and visited with some large leads to make personal intros
but nothing changed the reputation
also, i made a fun post (for a change) on linkedin
something broke with them earlier this year
and they reached out asking if we could help
this time around, we had exp
we had 4 writers. a large team. high qc standards
we took it on
5 reports a week
and 4x the billing of the first time
3 months in. 40% MoM growth in metrics.
Now they have offered us the exact project we messed up 3 years ago
life comes a full circle.
be patient. dont chase, and know how high you can punch
and if you don’t think you’re delivering. it’s okay to not invoice
everyone will say, it’s okay, work harder
but if you can’t justify your cost to a client
remember that your relationship and sleep is more important than extra profit for a month
on another note. some cool things that happened this week:
1. it feels crazy to send more than 2x what we get paid to a client every month! this month we will cross 5k in revenue for them
2. sometimes the client will fill in an onboarding form with what they want. but remember, you know what you offer. show them what they can get (not just what they want)
3. on another note. the millionaire lead we got. we took a bit too long for the sample (we put too high of a benchmark internally). now he’s not responding. manifest his response for us!!
