three observations

In partnership with

Today’s edition isn’t updates. reflection. or my thoughts. just observations.

So what did you observe, Arnav?

Observation 1: Obsess on speed rather than perfection

heh? what da phok are you saying bro?

we are working with a legal tech client.

we seemed to have exaggerated one fact that caused a few people to start commenting saying the info is incorrect.

but the 80% majority was loving the content.

tldr. 100k impressions. 100 leads. yup you read that right.

why am i saying this?

because sometimes we run out of ideas. we slip up. but even slip ups can be successful.

writing 15 posts a week on the legal system while ensuring no one gets deported, gives us so much context into the industry, it’s unreal.

i almost use this as an icebreaker when i talk to Indians in the US, or anyone working on foreign exchange programs.

if you keep doing tasks as tasks rather than an opportunity to absorb. you are not going to make it.

it’s not a generalisation. but passion leads curiosity.

without curiosity, you can’t go into depth.

i think of every new industry we work with as a candy shop.

run around, explore.

you might not like the taste of everything you have. but everything is worth a shot.

with time, you will start to like everything.

just like my relationship with rice and pan asian food.

but yes, we only now know everything about law, sf, saastr and more.

sitting in India, ive started to think like an SF founder.

couldn’t ask for a better job.

Observation 2: Tell the client to get their act together.

remember the time we got a client a 1 cr roi in a month.

unfortunately their team started to ignore leads.

they got way too many.

most agencies wouldn’t bother. their job is to get leads. simple. aint it?

if i get you 8 leads a day. you happy. me happy.

my issue? they started taking it for granted.

see, i dont like to put someone’s bum on the line

but if the q comes about ROI later, it’s not fair for us to get the blame

so yes a day after this.

they closed souled store.

met the ceo in Bombay, installing at their store next week.

sometimes, you don’t just need to keep your team accountable

but also the client to ensure you behave as partners

and not just a vendor.

Observation 3: Just ask.

we’ve been working with warikoo for a while

and usually they like to continue the same way.

changes are things no one like.

but this week we saw an opportunity to amp up something

put two options in front of them (what the norm is and what we suggested)

and the below came in as a reply:

somtimes when we keep suggesting things and keep hearing no

most people lose motivation to suggest

us? put your ego aside.

put your mind active.

and just suggest.

100 no. 1 yes. yet is one yes and a ton of initiative

Observation 4: Send proof

we’ve been working with a client who churned a while back because we were young and didn’t know much

now?

we send daily reports.

7 days a week.

but the reports aren’t what’s happening.

but impact

which means we have to show impact daily.

it’s been life changing

they trust us more than ever before

our team is on top of things

and impact on a weekly basis is what agencies would take quarters to do.

create accountability through systems rather than fear.
