Welcome back to Inagiffy!
1st August 2025
sup sup
long time since i did this, but how are you?
I can do a poll. but meh
I want to hear from you.
on my end: 100 fever, bad bad cough and cold, flu is here in Bombay
before we go into updates. here’s today’s nugget:
write like no one’s reading.
yup you read that right.
write for yourself. and things will follow
you remember i mentioned about learning about the pygmalion effect last week?
that edition like every other i write, i go deep into it
i want to know everything, so much so, that i can teach about the topic
(btw, i might become a visiting professor at a university soon 😏)
and that just makes you really dive deep (rather than just use a prompt to write)
you end up wanting to know more
you end up reflecting on how this can impact your life or if it has in the past without you realising
you want to tell your friends / family about it
you just end up smiling and laughing when writing about it
the beauty of newsletters at scale is, you don’t track who all are reading (we send 22Mn emails a week)
we started doing a new thing for some of our clients. managing the reply inbox so we know the pulse of the readers.
this is what one of them replied:
tldr: he’s a multi-millionaire and a leader in his field.
he’s got connects in nearly every industry thanks to his family and his occupation
two days later I got on a call with him, now we’re making his sample : )
yes, he thought the newsletter is a blog (but that shows how personal he thought it was)
tldr: have fun while writing, that’s the only way others will have fun too!
other cool stuff?
we took a newsletter from 20k opens to 52k opens (150% increase in opens) in one week
up. enjoy content. but also ensure that deliverability ensures people get it and can read the work.
me when i kept refreshing metrics:
last thing:
this one makes me just rethink so much. our own newsletter is around 12k subs. and some of the ones we manage get 3k folks who unsubscribe every edition (in 4 editions, they lose as many subs as we have)
not to mention that they grow by 100k subs a month. but yet.
just grateful to witness numbers everywhere.
have you had a moment recently where you just stopped and said
”damn, this is amazing and scary. im so grateful”?
if so, would love to hear that moment!
